[today's seemingly random title is a take on my favorite type of job posting found on the various freelance sites (for how perfectly greedy, egocentric and unreasonable these types of postings are) ---today this little vent is about taking on DIY noob clients, where I come up with really workable, custom solutions for a multifaceted CMS site, within their limited budget (not $60, but still much less than many developers (with lesser and equal skills) would have done it for), and what do I get but nit picking and much of the work is lost on them because they refuse to RTFM I do provide. // all the niftiness of the CMS coding is lost on them and I get bitched at. what a crock] !!! </rant>

Gnosis update:
so I think i mentioned before how I’ve read that Gurdjieff said that man’s obligation as a link in the Ray of Creation (the one we branch from) has been fulfilled. I don’t know if he said this or not // what limited Gurdjieff I’ve read has not said explicitly. In a nutshell, this would mean that the moon is in some way on the verge of blossoming into a planet.
Mouravieff says that humankind has *not* yet fulfilled this role. In the portion of Gnosis II I’m reading M is elucidating on the difference between growth and development. He says that in any cycling, there are a least a few if not several chapters of growth, and then a couple chapters of development. He says that the Industrial Revolution marked the beginning of the development phases of man-as-organic-life/ray-of-creation-link. He has much more to say about this, but basically, that it will take personal development for humankind to generate enough energy for the moon,earth,sun to graduate to the next higher octave. If you think about it this way, the General Law becomes not just a force to maintain stasis and the status quo, but a force that makes life possible, pulling and nudging everything in the World, to make it possible for the next generation of life to mature from the end of our ray-of-creation. If the General Law has to shock elements and individuals into action, pressing them to make these strides in moral development, or what have you, if mankind must progress from ‘exterior man’ to ‘internal man’ in order for less developed organic life to excel, then it will find a way.
Of course, it’s not just about whether or not we’ll feed the moon enough organic life energy for it to blossom into a cozy planet. No, Mouravieff has it that if we, as an organic link in the ray of creation, fail to bring about the necessary shift in consciousness, then it’s lake of fire time:
I enjoy hearing the interpretations of symbols . ‘lake of fire’ stuff is a symbol of great purging / RESET. The idea is that the Ray of Creation can rupture if we do not evolve to let the higher energies (we ourselves are moving toward) flow through us, inform us. He quotes a bible verse about the sun going dark and the moon turning to blood. Blood being a symbol for life. The sun going dark because it moves on as well, having fulfilled its part as a Sun:
The Earth itself, having accomplished its task of bringing life to the Moon, will also pass on to a new stage in its evolution: it will leave the Mesocosmos, entering the Deuterocosmos as a new Sun. It will shine with its own light, and so our Sun will not illumine it as it does at present. It will be directly illumined by the ineffable light that comes from the high places of the Protocosmos. This explains king David’s vision in which he saw the Sun turned into darkness,
Mouravieff also talks more about the steps involved in creating a ‘transmitting station’ strong enough to finish this transformation, and refers to more interesting biblical references. It seems that a large amount/density of organic life (of the degree of development that (adamic) humans are) is required. M says that the ideas of the Resurrection/Rapture (where everyone is returned to bodily existence), is this accumulation of organic life mass, tied to the population booming, and when all human life has developed to the point where we are all incarnated on the planet at once, this is the time when everything shifts up a notch. He calls the time just before this transition the Cycle of the Holy Spirit, where the Cycle of the Son is from the birth of Christ to about 2000 years later.
This second book in the Gnosis series goes into a lot more detail about the Octaves, the shocks in said octaves, in explaining specific relationships in more depth, such as how lateral octaves branch out of the shocks between Do and Si, and Fa and Mi:
There are several diagrams that one must consider in order to understand what all M has to say about the Octaves. I think it is particularly interesting to hear more about lateral octaves. As far as my understanding goes at this point, each of the three main notes of the lateral octave are more directly connected to the Absolute, as Absolute I, Absolute II, Absolute III. I can *see* it, but know i’m missing a lot of the minutia, and so possibly deeper meaning.
Love
To better understand the creative meaning of man’s work on himself, we must put it in context with the creative force at work in the Universe.
We have seen that the essential principle of the creative energy from the Absolute I is Love. In our present state of being we are unable to perceive, conceive or even imagine the nature, magnificence and power of this absolute spiritual Love which, as it reaches the Deuterocosmos, receives the emotional and mental (psychique) support of the Absolute II, the Do of the Lateral Octave, whose force reaches the whole planetary world, causing the mental, this celestial Love to resonate, penetrating and exalting organic life and so vivifying the whole Earth. To this is added the Love coming from the Absolute III, carnal or Terrestrial Love. In the form of sexual energy in all the variety of its manifestations, this rules the Tritocosmos and ensures the reproduction of the species.
Love, in these three forms, reaches, bathes and brings life to the whole Universe. A Noumenon, a direct and independent emanation of the Absolute, Love gives itself without restriction. Yet man constantly tends to subordinate this noumenal force to the ends of the Personality, which belong to the category of phenomena. How many unions are dictated by ambition or by social and similar considerations. This attitude is sacrilegious for –as the Creation if founded on Love– every offense against Love is an offense against God. And the Tradition says: God loves to the point of jealousy. we can say that the exploitation of love for practical ends breaks the universal equilibrium at this point and drags down to an egotistical level that which belongs in essence to higher planes. It is not surprising in these conditions to see that blasphemy against Love, who is Spirit, leads us to monstrous situations, to moral bankruptcy and even crime. Let us summarize what has just been said:
The three currents of Love are: spiritual Love emanating from the Absolute I, mental (psychique) Love emanating from the Absolute II, and carnal Love emanating from the Absolute III; they permeate all organic life on Earth.
Meanwhile, man alone has the ability to capture and live them all. But to grasp and fully (integrally) experience the psyche’s Love, the giving, the courteous, he love of Christ, is given to man only to the degree that a magnetic center has been formed within him and this has been absorbed by his higher emotional center. As for spiritual Love, that of the Holy Spirit, to reach this he must have reached through the higher emotional center to the higher intellectual center. For exterior man. dominated by his incomplete Personality, Love is only accessible to him on the plane of the Absolute III: for although he is penetrated through and through by the other wo currents, he generally remains unable to capture them, so that they remain essentially inconceivable to him. He only captures and so only experiences Love o nteh plane of the Absolute III, because on this level the sexual center allows him to absorb and re-radiate the creative energy which ensures procreation. In addition, this Love includes a promise, an Ariadne’s thread: by modifying his attitude to it, by evading its animal aspects, man can stem the current. This transformation is only possible with the sublimation of sex following esoteric evolution, when the man who today is an exterior man ceases to be so.
We must nevertheless constate that exterior man feels the transcendent character of the Love arising from the Absolute I and Absolute II. The first in essence reaches his consciousness in the form of a perception of existence. But he considers the beauty of the Universe and its life as mere information, instead of as a marvelous gift capable of constantly stimulating his sense of wonder and kindling his gratitude.
In relation to the Absolute II his attitude differs, at least in appearance. Human intelligence pays homage to the greatness of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross. Yet man above all ants to consider himself as the beneficiary of the sacrifice of his Lord, who appears to him essentially as his Saviour: salvation seems to him an acquired right, a reward for the divine sacrifice.
For the ‘I’ of the Personality these manifestations of Love on a higher plane therefore remain outside its sense of reality.
Pursuing its own aims, the human Personality neglects the divine side of human nature and the complete and absolute gift it can make of itself, crucifying the Savior every day by attempting to force Love to serve its own egotistical ends. All this is in vain, as such efforts inevitably lead first to moral bankruptcy and then to Death.
In the following chapters we shall examine in more detail some aspects of the manifestations of Love: the noumenal base upon which the entire phenomenal edifice of the Macrocosmos rests, and the force which penetrates down to the last organism of the Micro-microcosmos, the virus in the human spermatozoon.
This brings to mind examples of these different stages of Love in my life, such as the ‘tuning into the information’ of my younger life sitting in my room at night (it was very much swimming in an abundant pool of information). And the times interjected into the most regular, and most fucked up harassment days alike, where I have felt a great sense of gratitude and awe at the beauty of it all. Not sure when that started happening, and I didn’t notice a shift from one to the other, but i can see that having happened along the way.
