What’s wrong with being eccentric?
A whole fuck of a lot, according to some people. Where’s the line drawn? At what point has the interaction become ‘[individual ] harmed at the hands of the state’? while those may be interesting juxtapositions from which to explore, my own current thoughts are such:
so i *get* the point of being nudged by the group, the state, to behave in a sensible way. Psychology and common sense seem to agree that the individual feels happy and most alive when connecting meaningfully with hir environment… and so the companion logic of ’speak as the group in order to be heard / have effect’ falls into place.
while it has made sense in the past for you and i, for example, to seem to agree that we’re *thinking of * the same thing/essence/object when we both say ‘puppy’ or ‘purple’,
i have always resisted this notion of adaption-to-mandates of the state/group. it’s vital that the individual burns holes through the bubble and this is how a well defined system succeeds in not eating itself ,, ‘extropy’ ..[and whatnot -what i tend to label -variable- which is preferable because more variable keeps me in options]?
so wtf am i blogging about as it were…
i disagree with the notion that the state/group must worry or have authority over deciding when an individual is not Submitting Enough. and particularly this idea that it’s in the best interest of the ‘unfortunate being trapped inside their own head ‘ to bust that person out into high-density programming and interventions -whaHack! cough heave. we owe everything to the individual, the one, the singularity, novelty…
sanity is a self consistent system
knowing what it is to live in mind, i feel inclined to point out, is not such a bad or scary way to be. i’ve found it to be quite bodiless and free. visual, like spatial way of interacting with info. it’s just my mind, [or the Mind, but that's a whole other, though very-related topic. ]anyway, in these fancy new art terms i finally learned the meaning of –i reject ‘postmodern’. i *get* appropriation or a sort of mapping the world into one’s own language/code/world. for me this has been quite simply an experience of becoming ((more)conscious) . (((when i moved to the city i could hear/feel the increase of this ’stuff’, like concentrations of information exchange, let’s call them. but like just this throb -very similar to high voltge electricity nearby, one just feels the power nearby, *humming*.)))
the Individual interacting with this netting of information (environment)
is integral part of development as a conscious being, i think. . . I’ve seen many examples of systems designed to keep the individual in-line. i’ve been subject of a few particularly direct instances myself..
it’s the social scientists, psychologists etc who decide what it is to be healthily interacting with society, as an individual. I’ve seen both sides of this as far as 1)utilizing such a service; a re-anchoring when friends are unavailable or unable to help after trauma, in my case a severe concussion (in one case) [[left weeeeird lovecraftian symptoms of stars slowly changing their positions from these other personalities i could remember having been. --see Polaris -H.P.Lovecraft --]] and other situations in my life have shown me that re-anchoring using some standards of mental health can be very beneficial.
At the same time, I’m strongly opposed to forcing an individual to go or change in a direction they do not wish to go. I have been the victim (let’s decriminalize the use of that word if you can, cuz i’m just using it plainly to describe the type of interaction that took place) of what someone might umbrella such a horrible experience under the label ‘deprogramming’ maybe. i know what it is like to be punished for insisting in my right to exercise my free will.
… 2) having my freedom taken away just because I wanted to live differently than others thought I should
so there’s a need for psychological and emotional healing, where plugging into the group is called for and beneficial, but it can’t be up to others to decide when someone is needing to be indoctrinated into one paradigm or another. I mean forcefully getting someone to believe or behave in the ways you see fit is a type of rape, a tyep of taking advantage of another’s good will and intentions.
some social engineer types i’ve met seem inclined to neglect the eschaton movement happening where, while you’re convincing me i’ve been tooo internal and this has hurt me, has cut me off, you are benefiting from how the rest of us eccentric, schizophrenic, internal-world type people have been practically exploring how to move in the coming world in which your urge to quantify, categorize and dominate, won’t be all that effective. so i wish you’d(we’d all) quit telling us how we should be. there’s room for us all and believe it or not we all serve a purpose.
if we understand the omega wolf or scapegoat’s purpose of confronting unknown, digesting antithetical resistance, etc can’t we act accordingly and when we see ourselves projecting that onto someone else, at least attempt to laugh at it, and then choose a Friend/lateral response instead. ?
